Congratulations, the Fair Work Commission has approved your new enterprise agreement, and it is in now in effect!

The agreement was only approved after HSU members pressed Opal for further undertakings, to ensure your agreement met the standards required. 

Those undertakings included improvements giving better conditions for overtime, and ensuring part-timers have more predictable hours confirmed in their contract. 

A copy of the new agreement can be found here, including the additional undertakings. 

Other key improvements of the new agreement include:

• Improved pay offer for all staff
• New infectious disease leave provisions, to better support staff when unwell
• Personal leave balances to be displayed on pay slips
• Improved provisions for union delegates to represent union members
• ‘Serious injury’ pooled sick leave is retained in the agreement

Your new agreement was the effort of HSU members working together across all Opal sites - when members stand strong together, we can make real improvements at work!
