Membership Fees & How to Pay

Union fees are tax deductible, so you can save some of your union fees back by claiming them on your tax return. A statement from the HSU will be sent to you each year telling you how much you have paid in fees.

HSU offers members a choice of credit card or direct debit payment options.

Members can also choose their preference of fortnightly or monthly payments, as best suits their circumstances.

Membership payments via these methods are:

  • Secure - only the authorised membership fees will ever be deducted from your account.
  • Smart - by paying with regular automatic debits, you never risk losing the industrial, professional and legal protection you need.
  • Convenient - payments are deducted automatically, removing any time-wasting mail-in forms or phone calls.
  • Confidential - paying your fees direct from your account means your HSU membership is you business, not your employer's.

HSU Membership Fees

Fortnightly: $22.20
Monthly: $48.10
Students*: Free

*Student members are any people studying in a profession that is constitutionally covered by the rules of the union. When a student member commences work in a workplace/profession that is constitutionally covered by the rules of HSU they will be required to pay the appropriate union fee.
