Technical Assistants in Scientific Areas: Do you want to be part of Award Reform?

The NSW Health Awards covering Scientific Technical Assistants performing scientific or lab work are no longer fit for purpose.

Scientific Technical Assistants are not just blood collectors. HSU Scientific Technical Assistants increasingly perform highly complex and critical roles such as ECGs, drug screenings, data entry, training and much more.

This increased professionalisation requires once-in-a-generation change to the Awards!

HSU Technical Assistant members are forming a Technical Assistants (Scientific) Industrial Committee. The Committee is tasked with preparing the Award claims for Scientific Technical Assistants.

The Technical Assistants (Scientific) Industrial Committee will meet on a monthly basis starting Thursday 15 August. Any Scientific TA who is an HSU member is welcome to join these meetings.

If you want to be part of this Award Reform campaign, please write to [E-Mail not displayed] with Technical Assistants Scientific in the subject line.

To win award reform, we have to build grassroots bargaining power from the membership. Your colleagues can join the HSU at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
