HSU members at St Elizabeth Home have secured backpay after standing together and calling out management’s failure to adjust payrates in line with the new enterprise agreement!

After HSU members pointed out the error, demanding payrates be adjusted and backpay applied, St Elizabeth House management have now confirmed the error. Management has written to the HSU to confirm the payrates will be adjusted and backpay will be paid.

HSU members should check their payslips to confirm they are receiving the new payrate negotiated in the recent EA, including backpay. Additionally, while St Elizabeth payroll marked the 24 July payslips with “Back pay prior year inc super” this payout does not actually include the company’s super contribution.

HSU members sought clarification on this matter and have confirmed the superannuation component of this pay will be paid into workers’ super funds this month. HSU members should check their superannuation funds to confirm this payment.
