With Scalabrini Chipping Norton recently undertaking a review of the catering department, it’s vital HSU members know their rights!

This may result in changes to some workers’ shift start and finish times and it’s important workers know where they stand.

During the consultation process, Scalabrini must consult with all affected staff members. This means that management must:

• Provide, in writing, all relevant information about the change,
• invite you to give your views about the proposed change,
• consider any views about the impact of the change,
• not change your contracted hours without your approval. 

HSU members have the right to be represented by their union – if these changes affect you and you need to meet with management, you should not go in alone! If your colleagues are not yet HSU members, encourage them to join the union so that can also be represented!

Do not sign anything you are not happy with – seek advice before agreeing to anything.
