St Basil’s management have provided a new and improved wage offer after HSU members stood together and said ‘NO’ to the earlier sub-par offer!

From the original offer of 4 per cent over two years, we now have a 9 per cent over two years offer on the table!

 The new offer includes:

• 4 per cent wage increase, effective from 1 January 2024 (with backpay to from 1 Jan 2024)
• A further 2.5 per cent increases in July 2024 and July 2025
• A new classification structure
• All other improvements retained, such as predictable hours confirm in contracts, Paid Union meetings, and improved overtime rates.

St Basil’s have effectively doubled the pay increases on offer only because HSU members stayed active and united and have significantly grown union membership – which has more than doubled at St Basils!

While this doesn’t meet all your wage demands, it is a significantly improved offer and one that your HSU bargaining committee at St Basil’s feedback on.
