St Agnes Parish bargaining: Stand together, and vote No

Dear Member,
Your bargaining committee have been hard at work negotiating a fair, new, enterprise agreement with St Agnes Parish – but after weeks of discussions, St Agnes has presented a wage and conditions offer that falls short of what you deserve.
Here’s what St Agnes Parish is offering:
- Direct Care Staff: A mere 2.7% increase – which amounts to just 65 cents more per hour.
- Non-Direct Aged Care Staff: No guaranteed pay rise – St Agnes has labelled this a “discretionary” increase, which offers no security for future pay.
This proposal is far below the standard you are worth. Voting NO is the only way to secure a better offer.
This is the time for us to stand together against this insufficient proposal and demand a wage that respects our hard work and dedication. A mere 65 cents is not enough and every member deserves a real wage increase – not an “optional” one.
What’s next?
Voting will open on Friday, 15 November and close Tuesday, 19 November. You can vote online and via SMS.
Before voting opens, St Agnes must provide a copy of the agreement with details on all the proposed changes. Please review this information carefully and if you have any questions, get in contact with your local HSU delegate or organiser. If a majority vote ‘yes’, the offer will be accepted. We need a majority to VOTE NO to reject the offer and keep campaigning for a better outcome.
So, vote NO!
Our power comes from members being engaged and active in their workplace. The more members at your workplace, the louder our voices are.
United, we can push for a better deal. Stand together and vote NO.
Copies of St Agnes’ proposed EA rates should be available in all staff rooms.
Please take a moment to review them and understand what’s at stake. You can also access a copy here.
