Following the previous updates on SNSWLHD’s proposed cuts, union members have met with management and have successfully extended the feedback period until mid-December. This will allow for genuine consultation and to work on a plan for an alternative cost-neutral proposal.
If you haven’t yet had your say, you can view the documents here. Make sure to provide your feedback to [E-Mail not displayed] by close of business, Tuesday 10 December, using subject line SNSWLHD Operations and Integrated Care Allied Health Cuts.
The District argues their proposal will create a more efficient approach to patient care. Unfortunately, they fail to provide any details about how the loss of FTE will lead to improved or safe patient care. There has been no risk assessment or considerations of staff safety provided in the correspondence to the HSU.
Don’t be fooled by management rhetoric: this is nothing but a cost saving strategy to save $1 million dollars at your expense.
All affected staff will have to reapply for their positions. If you are not successful in reapplying for your own job, you will be placed into a mobility program and could potentially be forced to work in another government sector. Management does not want to pay for redundancies and will avoid that at all costs.
Do you and your colleagues deserve these cuts?
HSU members must unite against this outrageous proposal. This is your time to say NO, this is not acceptable!
Get involved, speak with your colleagues, and encourage people to speak up. You can also print this ‘Allied Health is our Wealth’ flyer to print and distribute in your workplace.
