If you have been directed to work 15 minutes before your normal starting time – this is work!
Members at RSL LifeCare Bill McKenzie Gardens and Coral Park have received concerns about a memo from management threatening disciplinary action if you failed to arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift start to undertake a RAT.
This week your local HSU Organiser Marion Jennings wrote to your manager and asked that either you are paid for the 15 minutes of coming to work early or to rescind the threat of disciplinary action if late to your shift due to completing a RAT.
Though a formal reply is yet to be issued, it appears that this request has been responded to with new directions for you to do testing at home prior to travelling to work.
This change was only brought about by members voicing concerns when something wasn’t right. If you have a work colleague who is not a member yet, encourage them to join online www.hsu.asn.au/join or by calling head office on 1300 478 679. We are always stronger together.
