Published November 19, 2024
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District has finally acknowledged it intends to undertake a restructure of the District’s Medical Imaging Department, after months of member activity and pressure from the HSU to engage in consultation.
NBMLHD advises that they intend to implement the following changes:
- Realign responsibility for the Medical Imaging portfolio from the Director Allied Health, Research and Strategic Partnerships, to the Director Hospital Services.
- Delete the role of Business Manager (Health Manager level 2, currently vacant) and replace with new role of Divisional Manager (Health Manager level 3).
- Realignment of responsibilities under the current Director Medical Imaging (Staff Specialist) to align with new role title Clinical Director responsible for clinical leadership and management of senior medical, registrar and nuclear medicine/PET positions.
- Creation of a General Manager role (Health Manager level 5). This role will work closely with the Clinical Director, reporting to the Director Hospital Services.
- District/Nepean Chief Radiographer changed reporting line to the new position of General Manager.
- RIS/PACS Manager aligned to the new position of General Manager.
