NBMLHD: Support Services transition to HealthShare NSW

HealthShare NSW has provided the HSU with an update on its Support Services Program affecting HSU members at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District and Western Sydney Local Health District.

Following a tremendous fight by HSU members at Westmead Hospital, HealthShare has come to the understanding that the HSU is not to be messed with. Delegates and members stood united and strong, refusing unreasonable management directives and insisting HealthShare respects and abides by the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreed to when it took over management of support services.

Thanks to HSU members, HealthShare is taking more care moving into the next tranche of transitions, hopefully making the ensuing process smoother and less stressful for staff.

Support services staff at Westmead Hospital formally transitioned from WSLHD management to HealthShare management early October 2024. Staff at other WSLHD sites will be transitioned in the coming weeks.

HealthShare advises that the transition for NBMLHD sites has commenced, with Town Hall meetings being conducted and regular Union-Specific Consultative Committees (USCCs) with the HSU established. HealthShare states Nepean Hospital staff will be the first to transition towards the end of January 2025.
