Congratulations to all the HSU members who stood up for your right to negotiate for better wages and conditions more than 12 months ago – ICON has now submitted the paperwork for your enterprise agreement to the Fair Work Commission!

Your agreement should be approved in the coming weeks.

It was your incredible solidarity every step of the way throughout the lengthy EA process – including exercising your right to take protected industrial action – that achieved this!

This was not an easy process, but the strength members showed as a collective paid off with every medical physicist in NSW, the ACT, and Queensland now set to be paid the same wage for doing the same job from January 2025. That’s an outstanding achievement in the face of outright refusal from your employer throughout the entirety of negotiations.

Members also won CPD provisions, on-call arrangements, the right to disconnect, recognition of the role of the union and union delegates and ensuring your lowest paid colleagues aren’t left behind. And importantly, together members continue the fight for your value to be recognised at work!

Once the EA is approved, the focus will move to enforcing the agreement. If you have any concerns about your employer failing to meet the provisions contained in the agreement, contact your union organiser or delegate immediately.
