Dear Member,
Your new Enterprise Agreement has now been approved by Fair Work Commission and a copy of the new agreement can be found here.
During negotiations, your wages and several key conditions have been increased to better align with Calvary Bruce Enterprise Agreement. Members fought for this as they felt it was unfair workers at John James were being treated differently despite doing the exact same job for the same employer.
Key improvements of the new agreement include:
Wages increases of:
- Backpay of 4% from first full pay period (FFPP) after1July 2023
- Backpay of 4% from FFPP 1 July 2024
- 3% FFPP 1 July 2025
- 3% FFPP 1 July 2026
Your employer has advised the HSU your new rates of pay will be effective from 2 December, and they are aiming to process backpay in an out of cycle pay run – Thursday 12 December 2024.
Other improvements won during Negotiations:
- Paid Parental Leave increased to 18 weeks to primary carer and two weeks paid to secondary carers after one years’ service
- Faster pay point progression for part time workers to include sick leave and overtime counting towards progression pay points
- New Leading Hand allowance
- New requirements to roster two days off together, where practicable
- TOIL, utilisation period reduced to three months from six months.
- New Public Holiday substitution
- Increase from 10 to 20 days paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave
Keep an eye out for your next pay increase and back pay. If you have any questions, please contact your HSU delegate or organiser, or call the Member Service Division on 1300 478 679.
Remember, your new agreement was the effort of HSU members working together at Calvary Bruce Private. When members stand strong together, we can make real improvements at work!
