Sign the petition! Don’t let ACL send key jobs offshore!

Dear Member,

DON’T FORGET TO SIGN THE PETITION AND SUPPORT ACL WORKERS

Workers across pathology understand just how important customer service operators are for ensuring the privacy of patient records.

Australian Clinical Labs (ACL) don’t respect that! Instead, company profits are more important to ACL than workers and in a disgraceful move, the company has decided to move key customer service jobs offshore to Malaysia.

These are jobs funded by Medicare at a time when a huge increase to the rebate ensures company profits continue to climb - your tax dollars should be funding jobs in Australia.

Even worse, it’s irresponsible to move such sensitive work overseas purely to reduce costs. Staff and patients must come before profits!

The work these customer service workers do is incredibly confidential. ACL have provided no information to prove workers overseas will follow the same standards expected in Australia.

What next?

HSU members have organised a meeting between a relevant government minister and impacted staff, where workers can explain their plight and encourage the government to reconsider its contract with ACL or potentially the contract’s suspension until a full investigation can occur.

It’s vital HSU members are able to walk into that meeting with an overwhelming petition they can present to the government. They can only do that with your help! Sign ASAP if you haven’t already!

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
