Make sure you attend final wage offer update meeting – details below

After months of bargaining, Aurora has not moved from their 8.25% wage increase offer over a three-year agreement.

The Aurora wage offer is currently:

• A 2.75% increase on 1 July 2024
• A 2.75% increase on 1 July 2025
• A 2.75% increase on 1 July 2026

However, Aurora has indicated they will put the draft enterprise agreement out to vote following the next bargaining meeting on Tuesday 1 October, and they will provide their final wage offer at this meeting.

Throughout the bargaining process Aurora has agreed to several positive improvements from HSU members’ log of claims, including:

1. Representative leave increased to 5 days per annum as per new legislation, 5 days initially for first year
2. HSU participation in orientation of new employees
3. Workload management clause: permanent time allocated in roster for clinical notes and documentation (Health Professionals). Time proportional to number of patients seen and treatment given.
4. New clause for review if training in breaks will be provided an equivalent break
5. Permanent Part Time working over their contract hours will be paid at overtime rates
6. Compassionate Leave increased to 4 days
7. Classification structure review – Allied Health
8. Overtime payments to apply to any work done outside of rostered hours

These wins are a positive step. However, it will be up to members to determine whether these conditions, in conjunction with the final wage offer being provided on 1 October, are acceptable.

It’s vital that ALL members have your say on the revised offer from Aurora.

Next Steps
