Another day – another inquiry?

Once again, in order to avoid actually solving the crisis in aged care, the Federal Government has established yet another inquiry.
This time, the Productivity Commission has been tasked with investigating the impacts of indirect employment in aged care, such as contract, agency, and platform work. This is in response to the Aged Care Royal Commission’s recommendation that workers should be directly employed.
It begs the question if the Aged Care Royal Commission has already made a recommendation - why yet another inquiry is required at all. Or is this yet another stalling tactic by this government to do nothing in aged care.
Your Union will be making a submission to the inquiry because it’s important that your experiences about employment on the front line in aged care are heard- even to yet another inquiry. We’ve created a survey for you to share your views and experiences. Please complete the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/nsw-act-qld
