Advantaged Care: Are you using a Certificate III in your role?
-
Published June 12, 2024
HSU members working at Advantaged Aged Care recently raised concerns about the rates of pay and classification of Certificate III qualified staff.
In response, Advantaged Care have agreed to do an audit and an assessment of all CSC 1 staff to benchmark them against the ACE 4 classification under the Aged Care Award.
This means they will review the classification of Certificate III qualified CSC Staff and if they are found to be utilising the skills and experience of their qualification and meeting the other criteria of the Award, Advantaged Care will reclassify these staff to the correct rate.
If you hold a Certificate III and utilise the certificate in your role, for example (please note there may be others):
- Supporting residents to live with greater independence;
- Recognising healthy body systems;
- Practicing infection prevention and control
and work under minimal supervision, you could meet these criteria.
Please send your name, workplace and details of your role to Industrial Officer Tim Judge at [E-Mail not displayed] to ensure your rate is reviewed as part of this process.
