VOTE OUTCOME: PTOs fight for a better Award
-
Published June 11, 2024
PTO members have made it clear that they will not back down on the log of claims for a better Award. The results have come in from the action survey and now the fight ramps up.
Actions from first day shift, Monday 10 June 2024:
- All HSU PTOs will decline to engage further with any aspect of the roster reform process until the current Award campaign is satisfactorily completed.
- All HSU PTOs will decline to engage with all internal training processes until the Award negotiation process is satisfactorily completed.
Members also voted overwhelmingly in favour of trigger action to be brought on as necessary while this fight continues. Action to be triggered at short notice, if required:
- HSU PTOs will decline to initiate status changes on Logis. They will acknowledge the job by pressing ‘en route’ but not update the job status until the job is completed.
- HSU PTOs will decline to call ahead to ‘sending facilities’ for all patients/jobs.
- HSU PTOs will decline all discharge jobs, leaving patients in place and safe in hospital, with exceptions for IHT for Specialist Care, appointments (e.g. Dialysis), Special Care (e.g. End of Life) and patients under 18 years of age.
PTOs are united in this fight. After years of disrespect and mismanagement from HealthShare, they will not stand down easily on the fight with the Ministry of Health to improve their Award.
