Have you been told to work across multiple sites in Hunter New England Local Health District but told you’re not eligible for excess travel pay? If so, it’s vital you have your say!
HSU members recently reported that HNE Oral Health told workers they must work across multiple sites but would be denied travel pay.
If you have been ordered to work across multiple sites without excess travel compensation, it’s vital you speak up. Your Award is very clear on this matter, stating “Where an employee is directed to report for duty to a place of work other than the employee’s accustomed place of work the employee shall travel to and from the alternative place of work in the employer's time for those periods in excess of time normally taken to travel to and from the accustomed place of work.”
Contact your HSU organiser ASAP if you think your employer is not following the above.
