Nuclear Medicine Award Claims: Our Time Is Now!
-
Published November 15, 2024
It has been 20 years (or more) since the HSU Awards were last negotiated.
For HSU Nuclear Medicine Technologists (including Nuclear Medicine Technologist / Sonographers) this means pay and conditions have not kept up with other states or private practice and does not reflect the complexity of work or attract and retain staff.
Nuclear Medicine Technologists in NSW are working under several Awards with varying conditions and pay for each group. The only thing all Nuclear Medicine Technologists share is being underpaid compared to QLD colleagues.
It is time this changed. Our time is now!
For over a year, your HSU delegates have met weekly to draft a new award with pay and conditions fit for 2024. In May, the first draft was released and the feedback from members has been incorporated.
Now is the time to come together to discuss the final claims (including pay) and vote on whether to take these to the Government.
Nuclear Medicine Technologist members (including Nuclear Medicine Technologist / Sonographers) are requested to attend an online mass meeting on Tuesday December 3 at 3pm where the following will be provided:
- Proposed HSU Award reform pay claims.
- Overview of the final document including changes made based on member feedback.
Registration for this meeting is mandatory. You can register at this link.
The complete Award will then be released for members following this meeting. Then all HSU members under the Medical Imaging and Radiation Award will vote between December 16-23.
If HSU members endorse the claims, then they will be presented to the Government to commence negotiations in the new year. The proposed Award, if successfully negotiated, will replace the current Award on July 1, 2025.
We’ve waited long enough, now is the time to fix NSW Health – our time is now!
