At our recent visit to Wuchopperen, members raised several concerns raised about Work Health and Safety. This has prompted discussion around Work Health and Safety representatives at Wuchopperen.
Work Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) are employees who represent staff in the workplace and are not employed by the company in that role but as an addition to their current role.
The role of HSRs is to ensure a safe working environment for staff. The QLD Work Health and Safety Act 2011 enshrines the rights and responsibilities of HSRs but also ensures that they are trained.
What do you think? Would you like to see a HSR at Wuchopperen? Would you like to know more?
Let your local HSU representative Angela Brown know your views by emailing [E-Mail not displayed] or contacting 0428 586 335. You can also talk with your Wuchopperen HSU contact Louise Lawrie.
If you have any other questions about Work Health and Safety, contact Angela, Louise or your HSU Member Services Division on 1300 478 679.
