Westmead Hospital COVID Update
-
Published July 7, 2021
The HSU has been made aware this morning that a COVID positive patient has attended the Westmead vaccination hub.
We have been in contact with Western Sydney LHD who have confirmed:
- All potentially exposed staff working in the vaccination hub at the exposure time have been contacted and directed to self-isolate. If you have not been contacted, you are not considered a close contact.
- All other staff members should continue following precautions as required.
- Any staff member who is worried or develops symptoms should get tested immediately at the Hospital testing clinic or their nearest testing clinic.
- Your Union has negotiated that all members required to self-isolate will be paid and not have to use any of their accrued leave entitlements.
A meeting with the LHD has been scheduled for 1pm tomorrow. Your Union representatives will attend and provide a further update following the meeting.
Your Organiser is also holding a briefing with all your workplace delegates today at 12pm.
If you are directly affected or have questions about entitlements, don’t wait. Contact your Organiser Brendan Roberts immediately: [E-Mail not displayed] or 0425 181 361.
Our Union will continue to provide support, assistance and advice to members in these uncertain times. Protecting your rights and safety at work is our number one priority.
If any of your colleagues aren’t yet HSU members, there’s never been a more important time to get protected.
