Westmead: An opportunity for new staff to learn the importance of the Union
-
Published April 9, 2021
A great many new employees have commenced working at Westmead Hospital since the opening of the Central Acute Services Building (CASB) earlier this year.
As part of your Award conditions, the Union has an entitlement to talk to all new employees for up to 30 minutes, in paid work time, as part of the Orientation process. This is an opportunity to discuss the benefits of union membership.
However, Western Sydney LHD is not currently running face-to-face Orientation sessions, and as a result this entitlement has not been met.
In order to rectify this shortcoming, we have been able to arrange the following times and dates for new employees to come learn more the Union and its benefits:
- Monday 12th April 10am-12pm in WECC seminar room L213
- Tuesday 13th April 2-4pm in WECC Seminar room L211
If you know any new employees in your department, encourage them to come and meet with your HSU Organiser. It’s vital that staff know the importance of belonging to the Union.
