Wesley Mission RACF Closures
-
Published April 11, 2023
Wesley Mission management have advised of the decision to close Wesley Mission’s three residential aged care centres, Wesley Rayward, Wesley Vickery and Wesley Taylor on 26 May 2023.
The initial consultation meetings have been held today with your HSU Representatives attending. Management have also advised that they aim to find alternative jobs in Wesley Mission for as many staff as possible. In the Home and Residential Care (H&RC) portfolio, this may be in their home care or disability services.
If you have been unable to attend a meeting, members are encouraged to reach out to management and get further information.
This can be a very difficult and stressful time. Members will have support throughout the consultation process. Your local organiser contact details are below if you have any questions or concerns.
It is important that members know your rights in any change process. You have the right
- to be consulted about the change. That gives you the right to raise any issues with the change and management must give consideration to those issues.
- to say NO! Contracted hours cannot be cut without your approval. Cuts to jobs can occur, but only with agreement, a redundancy or redeployment to a comparable position. Do not sign anything you are not happy with.
- for the changes to be put to you in writing and time to consider them.
- to representation! Ensure you are represented by the HSU when discussing major workplace change.
