Tomorrow health workers across NSW are taking industrial action.  

Health workers know why – it’s time for a pay rise. It’s time to put an end to this Government stealing half of your salary packaging benefits. It’s time for an increase to superannuation. It’s time to fix out of date Awards. 

It’s been two months. But this Government has been silent on pay for health workers.  

Enough is enough. Tomorrow, Wallsend members are taking action. The below actions will run from 00:01-23:59 Wednesday 31 May:

Nursing Home

• Laundry Closed
• Ground floor, toilets to be checked and x1 quick clean carried out.
• No ordering/receiving/entering of transfers/product loss forms.
• Linen to be topped up on Tuesday afternoon to cover Wednesday.
• 1x Main rubbish run for, both level 1 & 2, mid-morning- approx. 9am.
• 1x Main dirty linen run for, both level 1 & 2, mid-morning- approx. 9am.
• Cleaning of toilets/bathrooms to be a quick once over, mop particular areas as required.
• Prior to finishing, C1/C2 to check if any areas need attending and can’t be left until the next day (toilet/rubbish in treatment room/clinical waste etc.)
• No hot (egg/baked beans/bacon etc) Breakfast option Wednesday. Breaky to be Continental (cold but includes oats, hot weetbix & toast) service.
• Paper placemats to be used instead of table clothes and to assist with mess/clean up.
• Prepare trolley for AM tea:- biscuits not cakes. Request if Nurses can assist in serving. 
• Lunch: Blackboard Special: Possibly Finger Food (sausage rolls, pies, mini quiche, chips & sweet potato wedges), Cottage Pie with B&W/PC (rice pudding, panacotta, fruit cups, jelly etc.) desserts-not decanted, depending the resident.
• PM Tea-as above AM tea service.
• Dinner: Soup & toasted sandwiches. X1 choice for non sandwich eating residents, I.E Sausages & gravy with B&W/PC (rice pudding, panacotta, fruit cups, jelly etc.) desserts-not decanted, depending the resident.
• Wednesday for Thursday Menus to be competed on behalf of the residents with the exception of a small percentage of residents.
• Breaky prep for Thursday, completed Wednesday to be done-Baked Beans/Poached Eggs only. Prep as normal or partial prep for the next morning I.E 2x tins placed on trolley with foil container and lid for M1/M2 to decant prior to heating?
• General cleaning in servery to still be done, however no extra duties/project tasks to be carried out.
• Activities office-no activities
• Office to pull down shutter from 11-1 

Campus 

• Clinics to be attended to.
• No extra/builders/commission cleans to be done
• 1x Main rubbish run for, both level 1 & 2, mid-morning- approx. 9am
• Public toilets to be checked and x1 quick clean carried out. 

This Government needs to hear us loud and clear: it’s time for action now.
