Today, Tuesday 5th September, is Thank You For Working In Aged Care Day.
Thank You Day is a celebration of the hard work that all aged care workers do, day in day out, improving the lives of older Australians and giving them dignity at their most vulnerable. This is a celebration of you!
2023 brings much cause for celebration! Together, HSU aged care members have achieved remarkable things. An interim 15% pay rise has been granted by the Fair Work Commission to aged care workers in direct care roles. Coupled with a 5.75% increase in award rates from 1 July, this has resulted in the most significant pay increase many aged care members have ever experienced!
But our fight isn't over. This Thank You Day, HSU members are standing together to demand a full 25% increase for all aged care workers! We’re not going to stop and we’re not going to leave anyone behind.
