Published September 5, 2023
Your HSU bargaining committee has been in negotiations with MQ Health since April. MQ Health has now presented their wages proposal and a final position on our log of claims.
Their offer includes a wage increase equivalent to more than 17% across the life of the proposed Agreement, as follows:
- 5% increase backdated to 1 July 2023.
- 4.5% increase from 1 July 2024
- 4% increase from 1 July 2025
- 3.5% increase from 1 July 2026.
- Additional one-off payment equivalent to 5% of employee’s earnings between 1 July 2023 and date of staff approval of the Agreement.
Other improved conditions include:
- Domestic Violence (Paid) Leave increased to 20 days for permanent employees.
- Increases to Parental Leave entitlements, including superannuation being paid when on paid parental leave.
What’s Next?
Your bargaining committee will continue to work through some remaining items to finalise the Enterprise Agreement, with the aim of having this completed mid-September.
Then MQ Health will put the Enterprise Agreement to staff for their approval. During this process, HSU members will have an opportunity to ask questions in order to make an informed decision about voting.
