ADHSU’s campaign for Taxpayer Funded Rosters has officially launched!
Today marks a significant moment for paramedics across our community. This morning at 11:00 hrs, members launched the 'Taxpayer Funded Rosters' campaign, a movement fuelled by the frustration, determination, and unwavering resolve of ADHSU members. For too long, paramedics have been left to deal with under-resourced shifts and relentless workloads while our communities suffer the consequences. Today, we say no more.
This campaign is a line in the sand. It’s time for paramedics to take back control and demand the resources you need to safely do your jobs and save lives. The objective is simple – for the Ministry of Health to direct NSW Ambulance to backfill and maintain current and projected paramedic rosters.
Government, crossbench and even opposition MPs have passed significant wage increases and have supported all the campaigns run to get ambulance resourcing to the point where we can maintain current and projected paramedic rosters with existing resources. The Ambulance Service has to act and our MPs will take them on if we give them the ammunition.
It’s time to act.
The TFR campaign hinges on communities and their MPs standing up for ambulance resources in their local area.
Here’s how you can help lead the fight:
- Meet with your Local MP: Book a meeting with your Member of Parliament and make it clear: this isn’t just about us, it’s about their constituents and community. Bring your stories.
If you want to be part of your local members' contingent to meet with Members of Parliament and lobby your community, fill out the form at this link and your delegate will be in contact. - Attend political training on how to meet and lobby NSW State Members of Parliament in order to achieve the objective of the TFR campaign. Workshops will begin at 13:00 hrs on 11 December 2024 via zoom meeting. Click here for the zoom link.
- Make TFRs a topic in your local community: This fight is bigger than any one of us. Rally your colleagues, friends, and family. Share the campaign far and wide. Use social media, local news, and public events to speak to politicians.
This is not just another campaign; this is a fight for the profession, patients, and the communities you serve. The time for waiting is over. The time for action is now. Stand up, speak out, and join ADHSU paramedics in holding NSW Ambulance accountable.
