Management at Tamworth Pathology have reviewed the collection services and are proposing to swap the 8-hour home collection shift with a proposed 6-hour collection shift for hospital collections.

The HSU recently attended a meeting with Pathology North to seek further clarification around what the potential impacts would be. Pathology North have provided the following information:

Current Situation

1. H2 (our name forward collections) is currently a 6 hours shift
2. Home visits is currently an 8 hour shift. 

Proposed Changes 

1. H2 becomes an 8 hours shift
2. Home visits becomes a 6 hour shift 

Management have advised the reasoning for this decision is that, in their view, the low number of collections does not require a full 8-hour shift. They have also assured the union that no one will lose any of their contracted hours.
