St Vincent’s Private Hospitals: Updates from the bargaining table
-
Published September 9, 2022
Bargaining continues for your new agreement at St Vincent’s. As part of the bargaining process, your HSU Log of Claims has been presented to management. (please click this link for background.) Here is a summary of management’s responses your claims:
St Vincent’s has said NO to:
· Special paid pandemic leave
· Improvements to paid tea breaks
· Consultation prior to major changes
· Increases to FACS leave
· Sick leave balances paid upon conclusion of employment
St Vincent’s has said YES to:
· Improved casual conversion rights
And we are awaiting a response on:
· Annual increases to wages and allowances
· Greater HSU education in the workplace
So, there’s still a way to go with bargaining - with the key issue of wages still unresolved.
HSU members want to achieve strong outcomes at the bargaining table, and together we need to show management that we are united. You can show your support by:
· Talking to your colleagues about these updates and help them stay informed!
· Being on the lookout for visits from HSU organisers over the next month.
· Having your say directly or get more involved! Contact your workplace’s HSU Delegate.
· Finding out more about your union. Don’t know who your Delegate is yet? Email [E-Mail not displayed]
If we want stronger wage increases and better conditions, we need a strong union workplace. So, if you have colleagues who are not members yet, please refer them to www.hsu.asn.au/join or 1300 HSU NSW.
