St John of God Burwood and Richmond: Bargaining update

Dear Member,

Your HSU bargaining representatives met with St John of God management last week to continue Enterprise Agreement negotiations – passing on member feedback that the wage offer was simply not good enough!

St John of God’s offer does not keep up with inflation and would drag workers closer to the bare minimum!

While the Fair Work Commission mandated a 5.75 per cent increase to the award last year and 3.75 per cent from 1 July 2024, St John of God only increased your wages by 2.5 per cent last year and have only placed a 3.5 per cent increase from 1 July 2024 and a further 3 per cent increase from 1 July 2025 on the table.

Adding insult to injury, management offered a further 1 per cent wage increase to support services ONLY – if they voted yes to the offer.

This is a shameless tactic to push a sub-par agreement over the line by sweetening the deal for the lowest paid workers, whilst attempting to pit health professionals against support services colleagues.

What next? Come to an important meeting on Monday,17 June at 6:30pm to decide on next steps. Meeting link HERE.

It’s time to show St John of God it has underestimated the solidarity of its workers!
