Published June 11, 2024
Dear Member,
HammondCare has reached out to the HSU to confirm consultation has begun with Bond House staff regarding the pending site redevelopment.
While a development application has not yet been approved, HammondCare has confirmed it will organise individual consultation with staff as part of the process. The company has stated its focus is on “employee retention” and providing “suitable redeployment when roles are impacted”.
It's vital members know their rights during this process. Members have the right to
- Be consulted about changes – giving you the opportunity to raise any issues with the change. Management must consider issues you raise.
- Have the changes put in writing. You should be given adequate time to read and consider the changes.
- Be represented in a meeting.
- Maintaining your contracted hours – these changed without your agreement.
- Reasonable redeployment that needs to be to a site within reasonable travel times and distance.
Remember, do not sign anything you are not happy with!
Contact your HSU organiser Josie Peacock on 0419 264 060 or via 1300 478 679 if you wish to be represented in a meeting with management.
Encourage your workmates to join the HSU. Together you have strength in your workplace. New members can join online at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
