SESLHD restructure update: Strategy, Innovation & Improvement, Digital Health

Following feedback provided by HSU members, the Union has received correspondence from South Eastern Sydney Local Health District providing an update on proposed changes to merge the Directorates of Strategy, Innovation and Improvement, and Digital Health (see previous newsletter at this link).

SESLHD says that since the proposed restructure paper was released for consultation, personnel changes in the Executive team have impacted the ability to proceed with the overall merger of the two Directorates. But they have stated that ‘despite the decision not to proceed with the merger of the two Directorates at this time, there is still a compelling argument to bring together similar functions under the same reporting lines and to improve the coordination of work across the two Directorates’.

Additional amendments to the proposed structures of the Directorates have been made based on feedback received and discussion with the relevant teams, including:

  • Increasing the HSM2 analyst roles within the Analytics and Reporting team and reorganising the team under the two existing HSM4 roles – Analytics Service Manager and Clinical Analytics Manager. The proposed ABF and Reporting Manager (HSM4) role will not be created.
  • Changing the reporting line of the PACH Project Manager role, so that it reports to the Strategic Programs Manager role in Change and Innovation.
