Dear Member,
The HSU has been advised there is an outbreak of scabies across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. Please see attached correspondence sent to all staff by the Chief Executive.
ISLHD has advised preventive treatment will be provided to all staff working in clinical areas and will also be provided to any other individuals, such as volunteers and locums who are in close contact with patients. Preventive treatment is not mandatory for staff but is strongly advised to minimise the spread and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and patients.
Any staff who become infected with scabies, please submit a workers' compensation claim.
If you have any questions regarding the scabies outbreak, please email [E-Mail not displayed].
If you have any concerns about how the scabies outbreak is impacting you or your department, please contact HSU organiser [E-Mail not displayed].
