Following less than a day of action by ADHSU members, the Premier met with HSU paramedic delegates to discuss professional recognition for NSW paramedics.

Mr. Perrottet acknowledged the work of ADHSU delegates in the Paramedicine taskforce and was impressed with our members’ desire for real reform in out-of-hospital care.

He said that he wants to work with ADHSU members to progress paramedicine – and will reward paramedics for increased knowledge, skills, professionalism, and future practice improvements. The Premier was very enthusiastic about the services paramedics can provide to help fix the NSW Health system and the role we can play moving forward.

Overall, it was a positive meeting, but there is still a long way to go in this campaign. We are expecting a firm response from the Premier early next week.

State-wide delegates met and voted to continue chalking messages to the community as part of our ‘Priority 1’ Professional Recognition campaign. This phase is designed to inform and engage the community while we wait for the Premier’s response.

It is essential that ADHSU members’ messaging is consistent and unified. New slogan ideas can be found here: SLOGANS LINK

These messages and the campaign activity will be reviewed and adjusted as the fight continues.
