Good news! The night shift roster at Peakhurst Lodge is finally back to how it was before the major workplace change in December 2021.

OLC higher management confirmed in writing:

“[We] would like to proceed to implement this roster as planned while we continue to work on the final decision regarding concerns raised of workload management & additional night shift staff”.

Since March, members on night shift have continued the fight to increase staffing levels and improve safety for themselves and for residents. We lodged a dispute in the Fair Work Commission and were successful in achieving a commitment to consult from management. After two workplace meetings around WHS issues, and three hearings with the Fair Work Commissioner, your employer confirmed in writing they “expect that a final, written response to these concerns will be provided to employees and copied to the Health Services Union on Friday 14 July 2023”.
