Operational Ambulance Managers action back on
-

Despite a positive meeting between Ops Manager delegates, Gerard, the CE, and Senior Ministry Officials, the solution offered by the Ministry regarding excess hours is still not approved or resolved positively, though commitments have been made to work on it with some urgency.
According to MoH officials, the offer is being held up in a committee at the department of Premier.
We need to help the committee make the right decision with collective action.
A meeting of HSU Ops managers was held yesterday, and it was agreed to reinstate the previously endorsed action from this Saturday onwards.
The bans for HSU Ops Managers are:
- Only wear your 'blues' to work each day (excluding funerals etc) with the yellow ADHSU paramedic shield (75% endorsed)
- Working to rule, i.e., no more than 38 hours a week, no on-call, and no weekend work without payment (as this is considered unreasonable overtime at clause 11 of the award – 87% endorsed)
- Politely refusing to circumvent other workers' industrial and other action, including staff (83% endorsed)
Given that many members are not looking to receive overtime payments, but instead relief from a massive quantity of unreasonable hours, participating in the above action will effectively deliver a victory in its own right.
Members will be kept up to date with any developments.
