In recent years the Ministry of Health has been developing an NSW Peer Workforce Framework for the new and growing Peer Support Workers profession.

The HSU has not been consulted in the development of this Framework, despite numerous requests for genuine consultation to ensure our members had a voice in its creation.

Only in December 2022 did we finally receive a copy of the draft Framework. This is disappointing but it does mean that we now have a chance to hear your thoughts on whether this Framework adequately addresses your work and professional challenges.

Your Union’s Peer Support Industrial Committee has held a mass meeting with members and sought wide feedback to create the below survey. This is a long survey, but we believe it’s important that we cover all the issues arising from such a crucial document.
