The Salvation Army has announced that it will be rolling out its new Model of Care at Elizabeth Jenkins Place. Your local HSU Organiser Anu Mahimkar attended today’s briefing meetings to support members.
It’s important that you have a clear understanding of what is being proposed and how it will impact you. You should not feel pressured to agree or sign anything until you have understood and have received proper representation.
You have the right to:
- Be consulted about the changes, to raise concerns and concerns to be addressed properly.
- Say no – Contracted hours cannot be cut without your approval.
- Representation during consultation period.
- Join your union. Only HSU members will get representation and advice to stand up for your rights. New members can join now at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call on 1300 478 679.
There will be an opportunity to review your current rostered hours. Casual staff working for more than 6 months may be entitled to permanent part time employment. Permanent part time staff working regularly working over their contracted hours for more than 12 months without covering leave may be entitled to have these hours added to their contract.
For support, advice or representation contact your HSU Organiser Anuradha Mahimkar on 0419 405 687 or [E-Mail not displayed].
If you know someone who isn’t an HSU member, share this newsletter with them. New members can join now at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call on 1300 478 679.
