Mid North Coast LHD recently informed the HSU of their proposal to use external cleaning contractors in its health facilities. 

Last week, HSU members across the District met and endorsed a number of demands opposing management’s plan. 

Because of HSU members acting quickly and decisively, MNCLHD has now notified the HSU that no external contracting will be occurring. Management have listened to your demands and have agreed that any new worker recruited to assist in cleaning services across the District will be employed by NSW Health. 

This is a great win, and proof that we can safeguard proper public health jobs when we stand together.

Members are reminded to keep vigilant. We need to act quickly and all as one to put down threats to job security.
