MLHD Cootamundra Hospital rally

On Saturday 14 December, around 500 people including a strong HSU contingent, came together to rally against the closure of the Cootamundra Pathology Lab. Members stood side by side to fight for the lab, which is integral in providing essential services within the hospital.

Present at the rally was also State Member for Cootamnudra, Ms Steph Cooke MP, and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Cootamundra-Gundagai.

HSU members and the community showed incredible dedication to preserving health services and jobs that are critical to a functioning healthcare system.

A new petition has been launched calling on the NSW Parliament to stop proposed cuts to MLHD pathology.

HSU members can access and sign the petition in the Young and Cootamundra Pathology Collections, and in all MLHD Pathology Labs more widely in January 2025.

We’re ending the year stronger together! Let’s congratulate HSU members for always standing up to protect community livelihoods and wellbeing.

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
