Liverpool Hospital CSO & Ward Clerks Update re Electronic Sign On

Following the previous newsletter, the HSU has continued to question management about their proposed introduction of electronic sign on and off processes.

As management did not undertake genuine consultation prior to the introduction of this trial, the HSU advised members not to take part. The union has stipulated that the status quo remains in place. However, management has neglected to inform staff of this and is currently allowing everyone to take part in the trial.

HSU delegates have condemned this behaviour and challenged their actions.

As a remedy, HSU delegates have pushed for the extra time to travel to and from CID as an additional 5 minutes before and after shift.

For example, if your shift starts at 7:00am, you are allowed to tap in up until 07:05am, and your pay won’t be docked. Likewise, if you finish your shift at 3:30pm, you can leave your ward at 03:25pm and tap off.

The HSU urges members to utilise this additional time, which has been negotiated on the grounds of health and safety.
