HSU has raised concerns regarding the conditions of the staff tearoom with the Executive at Katoomba Hospital. It is not acceptable for HSU members to have breaks in an area that have several WH&S issues as well as Health Risks.

Below are the concerns raised with the Executive:

• Microwaves are filthy with only one working; the other is extremely old and not functional
• The internal parts of cupboards are dirty & have junk in them
• Cupboards have no doors
• Mould was found under sink
• Fridge is unclean
• Floor is unclean
• Items are placed in this area which could be considered trip hazards
