Your HSU Bargaining Committee met with Opal last week where management tabled a revised, improved, offer.

It’s important you have your say on the new offer. Read the below details and then have your say here

Note: Backpay will be paid to staff and paid in the alternate week of the fortnight.

Infectious Diseases Leave 

Opal have agreed to include three days paid leave for permanent staff with at least 12 months continuous service, this is available where an employee is unfit for work due to contracting an infectious disease.

Opal have also agreed to display personal leave balance on workers’ payslips. 

Where do we go from here? 

This improved offer is ONLY on the table because HSU members stood up and took action! Without HSU members voting no, this was not possible!
