IBIS Care: Important update about bargaining
-
Published August 16, 2024
Your HSU bargaining committee tabled your log of claims to Ibis Care almost two months ago but are yet to receive a response to your claims.
IBIS Care has informed HSU members that as negotiations have taken longer than anticipated, an administrative increase of 5.5 per cent on EA rates would be passed on to staff.
It is important to note the 5.5 per cent IBIS is passing on to staff includes the 3.75% increase to the Awards as determined by the Annual Wage Case. So while it is positive that IBIS Care is giving staff an increase despite all the delays in bargaining, they would have had have to pay 3.75 per cent anyway – making their actual contribution 1.75 per cent.

To be clear, bargaining has not stopped. IBIS Care has proposed a bargaining meeting for 29 August. In the meantime, your employer has confirmed it will work through your claims and undertake to create a merger of the five existing agreements into one single document for all sites to be covered on.
We are still fighting for fairer wages and conditions at IBIS Care, as outlined in our claims.
