HSU members secure fair outcome: HealthShare transition postponed!

The planned transition of non-clinical services in Auburn, Blacktown/Mt Druitt, and Cumberland Hospitals to HealthShare has been postponed until Monday, 16 December.

This two-week postponement is because members stood together to demand that fair staffing levels are agreed before the transition. Yesterday, HSU members put the transition into dispute due to unresolved staffing level concerns, and today HealthShare has agreed to delay the process.

This extra time will allow thorough consultation between the Union, WSLHD and HealthShare regarding the appropriate staffing required for cleaning, linen, docks, and stores at Auburn, Blacktown/Mt Druitt, and Cumberland Hospitals.

Members’ determination has made this possible, ensuring that members’ rights and the importance of fair staffing are recognised. Let’s stay strong and focused as we work hard over the next two weeks to secure the best outcomes.

Now it’s time to get into a detailed conversation about what staffing levels are needed across the District!
