Win for John Hunter Food Services! No ADOs rostered over public holidays!

Dear Member,

Recently, HSU members at John Hunter Hospital wrote to HealthShare after serious concerns were raised about Food Services workers being rostered Accrued Days Off on public holidays during the Christmas and New Year period.

This is a breach of your Award, which was won by HSU members coming together and fighting for improved rights and conditions.

After the non-compliant rostering was called out by the HSU in a letter earlier this week, HealthShare responded by committing to NOT rostering ADOs during the public holiday period.

Additionally, where ADO has/is been rostered, consultation will occur with impacted members to move ADO to suitable alternative day.

This is a win for HSU members and only happened because you called it out!

WHAT NOW?

Over the next week the changes should be made. If your roster has not been changed by the week of 9 December, contact your delegate ASAP.

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
