Hornsby wardspersons condemn late publication of rosters

  • Published February 9, 2023

On Tuesday afternoon, HSU wardsperson members at Hornsby Hospital met to discuss the issue of the late publication of rosters.

Management at the Hospital have given a commitment they will endeavour this won’t happen again.

Union members are treating this with scepticism as this issue has been ongoing for over a year. It is a basic Award provision that rosters be published fourteen days in advance.

Union members have endorsed the below resolutions:

  1. We condemn the lateness of the publication of our rosters in accordance with our conditions of employment and Award provisions. If this occurs again, we will hold a two hour stop work meeting on the following weekday after the due date of publication.
  2. We also condemn the changes we are seeing to our rosters. We call upon management to rescind the changes already made and follow the appropriate provisions for change, such as consulting with our Union. If this is not done and changes continue to be made without genuine consultation, we will hold a two hour stop work meeting.

Wardsperson members will remain vigilant with roster publications. If rosters are not published by their due date (fourteen days advance from commencement) contact your HSU organiser Matt Ramsay immediately on 0419 553 105 so we can immediately initiate our resolutions.

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
