Hornsby Hospital: What is management hiding?

Members working in Admin Officer classifications at Hornsby Hospital have raised work health and safety concerns about increased workloads due to vacant positions not being filled. This intensification of workload is creating an unsafe working environment for Admin Officers across the hospital.

Members are burnt out, exhausted, frustrated, and scared. The understaffing in Admin is impacting the psychological health and safety of HSU members.

Vacancies have been reported in areas such as Emergency, Medical Imaging, Outpatients, Ward Clerks, and possibly more.

Following these concerns, today your Organiser attempted gain access to information regarding staffing levels and vacancies under provisions within the Work Health and Safety Act.

Hornsby Executive and Northern Sydney LHD refused to provide access to any information. What are they hiding?

Having a safe working environment is not something that would be nice to have, it is a legal requirement. HSU members will continue to pursue access to this critical information through all avenues.

If you are working short-staffed or know of any vacancies not being filled, please contact your Organiser Brendan Roberts on 0425181361 or [E-Mail not displayed].

It’s critical for all Admin Officers at Hornsby to come together and stand united to demand your legal right to a safe workplace. Encourage your colleagues to join our Union and come forward with their experiences.
