HealtheCare Nauseous Linen Allowance
-
Published September 14, 2021
It has come to the HSU’s attention that a number of members are not being paid their correct entitlements in accordance with your Enterprise Agreement – in particular, nauseous linen allowance and potentially other allowances.
Under your Enterprise Agreement, an hourly allowance is payable for each shift worked when nauseous linen is handled and where this is reported to the Team Leader or NUM. This is particularly relevant to housekeeping, laundry staff, and theatre operation assistants.
Members have reported that allowances are not being displayed on pay slips, meaning that employees need to be vigilant about whether they are actually being paid what they’re entitled to. For any shifts where you are entitled to the allowance, please check that the hourly allowance is reflected in your pay for that pay period.
To address the matter, we need your input and participation.
Should you have any questions or concerns about your allowances and other entitlements, please contact your Organiser Johann Hariman via email [E-Mail not displayed] with subject line HealtheCare Allowances.
Our effectiveness and negotiation power depend on the strength and density of our membership. If you know someone who isn’t yet a member of the HSU, tell them to take the plunge today at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679. It’s never been more important to stand together.
